Sleep training involves custom guidance to address sleep challenges in children. I work with families to establish healthy sleep habits and tackle sleep related issues for improved over all well-being.
The goal of sleep training is to get children to transfer sleep cycles independently. They might still wake (babies wake 4-6 times a night on average) but they will be able to go back to sleep without signaling for mom or dad.
Sleep training teaches independent sleep skills like using a pacifier, moving their head from side to side, or sucking a thumb. Consider an adult using a fan, white noise, or an extra pillow to get to sleep. We all have ways to soothe ourselves to sleep. Babies can learn to sleep through the night; they just need some guidance.
We teach babies how to eat, walk, talk, and go potty. It only makes sense we teach them how to sleep!

At Silly Goose Sleeps, we focus on gentle and mild methods of sleep training. After our sleep assessment call, we get a vibe from your family. We analyze what suits you best and offer you a few options. We range from no tears (gentle) to firmer methods (comfort, intervals, or being in the room). We do not offer any extinction methods (this is probably what you have come to know as “Cry It Out”).
We prioritize family and child’s well-being; therefore, we navigate the sleep training process step by step. We follow the belief of that “pause” and take baby’s lead. Sometimes, stepping back to let baby sort it out for an extra minute or so is the real trick!
Did you know that it takes a baby 3 to 5 minutes to fully wake up. This research has guided us to “pause” before intervention. Immediately rushing in can cause your baby to fully wake up which leaves baby without the opportunity to transfer sleep cycles and practice lifelong sleep skills.

Not at all! I do not believe in leaving a child to cry themselves to sleep. There are so many gentle, nurturing ways to encourage independent sleep. I focus on building trust, providing comfort, and honoring your child’s signals. This helps create a strong bond that promotes good sleep habits. As a sleep consultant, I always make parents aware some crying is a normal part of change, and babies often use crying to express adjustment to a new routine. My goal is to never leave you or your baby to struggle alone. I will be there to guide you through how to respond with comfort and reassurance, while still allowing your child the opportunity to learn new sleep skills in a safe and loving way.
The plan we create will always align with what feels right for your family.

Most families see progress within a few nights (think 2-4 nights). Most consistent sleep habits will start developing over 1-2 weeks (nap schedules form, no more early wake ups, nighttime sleep is consistent).
All plans we offer keep you on track for 2 weeks. It is important to note that since we prioritize gentle sleep training approaches- it may take longer to see optimal results. Therefore, I do offer ongoing support if needed.

I get it. I’ve been that sleep deprived person trying to survive the day through a haze of exhaustion.
As a nanny, I’ve been the one staying late to support mothers who felt like they had no answers left. My years as a nanny have shown me the raw, emotional toll that exhaustion takes on a family dynamic.
But I’ve also seen the shift. I’ve seen what happens when a baby finally finds their rhythm: the family dynamic changes, hope returns, and parents finally start feeling like themselves again. Helping you get there is exactly why I do what I do.
I value you, your goals, and I want to work together as a team. This is a journey we will be on together to find the best sleep solutions.
Lastly, I really care, I want to help, and I believe my passion and love of kids will show in my work. I don’t just offer sleep plans; I offer support and will stick with you through this entire process.
I always say: if you want a village, you have to be a villager. I am a part of your village or in this case, flock!
With love,
